Matt Jenkins

I'm a multipotentialite — which is a polite way of saying I have a lot of interests and have never much cared for picking just one. A given month might hold a blacksmithing commission, a repaired lawnmower, a coin database, and a wedding.

I grew up taking things apart to see what made them work, and I never really stopped. I've published nine Instructables projects — circuits built from a pizza box, aluminum bronze cast from scrap copper and aluminum, clear ice, frozen bubbles — and around ninety videos on DIY work. A handful took prizes in contests, which still surprises me.

Most of my work is hands-on: furniture from reclaimed wood, blades and tools, metal melting and casting, machines that stopped working and don't anymore. The other half is at a screen — software, data, and a long-standing interest in pulling information out of the web cleanly.

Somewhere in the middle of all that I started collecting coins, and it grew into Coin & Collectable Catalog — the project I keep coming back to.

Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and I follow Him. That shapes how I work, how I treat people, and why the ministry side of my life matters as much to me as anything I build.

And I have an extraordinary family — my wife and four kids, who put up with a household full of half-finished projects and have never once stopped being the best part of it.
